Style It With:
Pair this antique blue transferware plate with pieces from our Vintage Flatware & Tableware collection and layer in complementary accents from our French Vintage Decor collection for a collected European-inspired display.

This antique blue transferware plate was produced by J&G Meakin in England during the 1890s in the desirable Rochester pattern. Known for their quality ironstone and transferware production, J&G Meakin pieces remain highly sought after by collectors today.

The soft pale blue transfer decoration is especially beautiful and has mellowed gracefully with age. We were immediately drawn to the charming color and character of these plates. Signs of use accumulated over more than a century, including gentle crazing, staining, and wear to the gold trim, only add to their authentic appeal and tell the story of a well-loved piece.

Whether displayed on a wall, layered into a collection, or occasionally used at the table, this plate offers the kind of beauty and craftsmanship that makes antique transferware so enduringly popular.
