This Tarahumara Indian pottery olla brings earthy texture and cultural craftsmanship into the home, offering a striking vessel that works beautifully as a standalone decorative piece or filled with branches.
The rawhide binding and simple metal stand elevate the form, allowing the handmade pot to be appreciated from every angle.
Created by Tarahumara artisans of Northern Mexico during the 20th century, this clay olla reflects traditional hand formed pottery techniques. The vessel is bound with sinew rawhide, a detail often used to reinforce and support the form while adding visual interest. The clay surface shows natural patina, tonal variations, soot and imperfections from age and use that highlight its handmade origins.
Placed on its stand, the piece becomes a sculptural focal point for a console, shelf, or tabletop. It can also be styled as a planter or decorative vessel indoors or outdoors.
This piece layers beautifully with items from our Vintage Vases & Vessels and Vintage Pottery collections.
