Known in France as a poissonnière, the long oval vessel was traditionally used for preparing whole fish. Hand formed from wonderfully heavy copper with substantial brass side handles, ours has developed layers of mottled patina, oxidation and wear from generations of use. At nearly two feet long, it now makes an incredible trough planter, centerpiece or collected kitchen display.
