Antique Hotel Silver Tray | Large Round Barware Gallery creates an instant foundation for bottles, glassware, candles, or collected decorative objects while protecting the surface beneath them. Made in the United States by Reed & Barton, this substantial silver soldered hotel tray has the timeworn patina and hardworking character we especially love in authentic vintage hotel silver.
Perfect For:
- Organizing bottles and glassware on a home bar
- Creating a layered candle display on a dining or coffee table
- Styling decanters, perfumes, or collected decorative objects
- Adding authentic hotel silver to a kitchen, pantry, or entertaining space
Style It With:
Pair this large round hotel tray with pieces from our Vintage Bar Decor collection and layer it with serving pieces from our Vintage Flatware & Tableware collection for a collected and character-rich entertaining display.
This antique hotel silver tray is constructed from silver soldered electroplated nickel and bears Reed & Barton maker marks and stamps. Silver soldered wares were manufactured for demanding commercial environments, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, railways, and other hospitality settings where serving pieces needed to withstand frequent use.
Unlike delicate decorative silver, hotel silver was designed as a true workhorse. Its heavier construction and reinforced joins made it suitable for daily service, while the plated finish offered the refined appearance expected in formal dining rooms and guest spaces. These practical origins are part of what makes vintage hotel trays so appealing to collectors today.
The broad fourteen-inch surface provides generous room for cocktail bottles, glassware, candles, or decorative collections. Its low gallery rim helps define the arrangement and keeps smaller objects visually contained. Use it on a bar cart, kitchen island, dining table, coffee table, or bathroom vanity for a polished display with genuine age and history.
The timeworn scratches, marks, patina, and surface variation reveal decades of use rather than diminishing the piece. We adore these hardworking trays and rarely pass them up because each one brings an authentic, storied quality that cannot be replicated by new decorative silver.
