This Tarahumara Indian pottery olla brings natural texture and handcrafted character to a shelf or tabletop with its distinctive rawhide wrapped form.
The combination of clay and sinew creates a sculptural piece that feels both rustic and refined.
Made in Mexico in the early 1900s, this small olla reflects traditional Tarahumara pottery techniques. The clay vessel is wrapped with rawhide sinew, a detail that adds both visual interest and structural reinforcement. The surface shows a warm neutral tone with natural patina from age and use. The pot remains in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
Its compact size makes it ideal as a decorative accent on a bookshelf, console, or layered into a grouping of pottery and natural materials.
This piece pairs beautifully with items from our Vintage Vases & Vessels and Vintage Pottery collections.
