The silverplate has developed a wonderfully timeworn surface with areas of wear and warm base metal showing through, giving it far more character than a newly polished piece. The edge is almost architectural, with raised scrolling leaves and floral motifs continuing around the entire oval bowl. Underneath, four highly detailed feet lift the bowl from the table and give a piece this large a surprisingly graceful profile.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWe especially love the surface exactly as it is. Years of use have softened the silver finish and exposed warmer tones beneath portions of the plating, creating the layered patina we look for in old silver.
