Midcentury Studio Pottery Bowl | Hand Thrown Signed Stoneware

Vintage Pottery Bowl | Signed Art Studio Catchall is a beautiful example of the earthy, one-of-a-kind studio pottery we love to mix into a collected home. Hand thrown with visible throwing rings, a speckled clay body, and layers of warm brown and muted sage-gray glaze, this midcentury bowl has wonderful movement and character from every angle. Use it as a small serving or fruit bowl, or give it a completely different life as a catchall for keys and sunglasses.

  • Materials: hand-thrown pottery / stoneware
  • Origin: USA
  • Era: midcentury
  • Dimensions: 7" Dia x 2.75" H
  • Condition: vintage; wear consistent with age and use; glaze variations, patina, and handmade imperfections present (see photos); no chips or cracks noted
  • Markings: hand-painted artist or studio mark to underside; maker unidentified
  • Use: serving bowl, fruit bowl, catchall, entry table bowl, or decorative display
  • Sourcing: hand selected
  • Design Notes: one-of-a-kind studio pottery with visible throwing rings, speckled clay, and an organic palette of earthy brown and soft sage-gray tones

Our favorite detail is the irregular spiral of glaze inside the bowl. It gives such a simple form so much movement and makes the hand of the potter immediately apparent. We would happily use this on the table, but it would be just as good sitting on an entry console holding keys and sunnies. It is the kind of useful, storied pottery that makes a room feel collected rather than decorated.

Please Note: The artist or studio mark has not been identified. As a vintage pottery piece, its suitability for modern food use has not been independently tested. Due to the vintage nature of our items, all sales are final. Please carefully review all photographs, read the complete description, and verify measurements before purchasing. Glaze variations, patina, and handmade imperfections are part of its character.
