Antique French Glass Jar | Large Blue Tint Pickling Vessel is one of those beautifully simple pieces that works almost anywhere. Hand selected in France, this generously sized old glass jar has a wonderfully clean cylindrical shape, softly rounded shoulders, and a thick rolled rim. The clear glass carries the slightest blue tint, giving it just enough variation to distinguish it from newer glass while keeping the overall look light, neutral, and easy to style.
We love the scale of this one. At 13.5 inches tall, it has enough presence to stand alone on a kitchen counter, open shelf, console, or large table without feeling heavy. We would fill it with tall branches or simple seasonal stems, or leave it completely empty and let the old glass and subtle color do the work.
The slight irregularities and soft blue cast are our favorite details. They give this otherwise simple utilitarian vessel the character we look for in old European glass and make it especially beautiful mixed with stoneware, old wood, baskets, and other collected pieces.
