Antique Stoneware Canning Crock | Two Tone Crackle Glaze Jar

Antique Stoneware Crock Canning Jar | Craquelure Two Tone is one of those wonderfully timeworn kitchen pieces we never tire of finding. Dating to the early 1900s, this American stoneware jar has a beautiful two-tone finish covered in naturally aged crazing and craquelure. Once a hardworking canning jar, today it's just as useful holding wooden spoons, flowers, or a collection of paint brushes.

Perfect For:

  • Holding wooden spoons and everyday kitchen utensils
  • Using as a vase for fresh or dried flowers
  • Keeping artist brushes together in a studio
  • Displaying with antique crocks, ironstone, and collected pottery

Style It With:
Pair this antique stoneware crock with pieces from our Vintage Stoneware, Clay Pottery & Handmade Earthenware collection and mix it with finds from our Vintage Kitchen Decor collection for a kitchen that feels collected over time.

This antique stoneware crock began life as a practical American canning jar in the early 1900s. The original wire handle is no longer present, although the small holes where it was once attached remain. We actually love details like this. They're a reminder that these old vessels were made to work and were used long before we began appreciating them for their wonderfully imperfect surfaces.

The two-tone coloring is especially beautiful, but it's the crazing and craquelure that gives this piece so much character. Years of age have created a web of fine lines across the glaze along with the variations and patina we look for when sourcing old stoneware. Set against newer pieces, that timeworn surface adds instant warmth and history.

And this is an easy one to actually use. Fill it with wooden utensils beside the stove, add a loose bunch of flowers or branches, or give it a new life in an art studio filled with paint brushes. We also love it simply sitting on an open shelf alongside white ironstone, old cutting boards, and other collected pottery.
