Dorothy Thorpe Silver Band Bowl | 10.75" Salad Bowl is a beautiful example of the clean, glamorous glassware that made Dorothy Thorpe's midcentury designs so recognizable. The substantial clear glass bowl is finished with a wide sterling silver overlay band around the rim, creating just enough shine without taking away from its wonderfully simple form. At nearly 11 inches across and 6 inches high, we love the generous size for serving salads, fruit, or simply displaying on an open shelf or table.
What we love most is how timeless this bowl still feels. The sparkling clear glass and simple silver band work just as easily on a modern table as they would have in the 1950s. There is nothing fussy about the design, which is exactly why Dorothy Thorpe pieces continue to mix so beautifully with both vintage and contemporary tableware.
The generous proportions also make this one especially useful. We would fill it with a large green salad for dinner, use it for fruit on a kitchen island, or leave it empty where the clear glass and silver rim can catch the light.
