For us, the surface is what makes this piece. Rather than polishing away its history, we love the layers of gray, charcoal, and warm pewter tones that have developed across the metal. Every mark and variation contributes to the quiet, timeworn quality that makes genuinely old pewter so appealing.

The surface is really what makes this piece for us. We would leave it exactly as found rather than polish away the centuries of oxidation and tonal variation. Its soft gray pewter, darker spotting, scratches, and irregular patina give an otherwise simple form so much depth.
At 14.5 inches across, it also has enough scale to make a statement. We would use it layered beneath candles or collected objects, leaned against a backsplash or shelf, displayed on a wall, or incorporated into a bar or dining room vignette. It works especially well alongside old wood, stoneware, glass, and other aged metals.
