Vintage English Steak Knives | Armack Durastag Set of 9
Vintage Cutlery Set | 9 Armack Durastag Steak Knives England is such a good set for bringing a little warmth and vintage character to the table. Made in England in the 1950s-60s, the nine knives pair polished stainless steel blades with beautiful amber-brown Durastag handles. We love the warm caramel coloring against the silver-toned blades. They're useful enough for everyday dinners but feel special enough to bring out when entertaining.
Perfect For:
- Using as steak knives or everyday dinner cutlery
- Mixing into an eclectic vintage flatware collection
- Setting a relaxed table for dinners and entertaining
- Displaying upright in a favorite crock or vessel between uses
Style It With:
Mix this vintage cutlery set with pieces from our Vintage Flatware & Tableware collection or display the knives in a piece from our Vintage Vases, Vessels & Antique Pots collection when they're not being used.
These vintage Armack Durastag steak knives were made in England and date to the 1950s-60s. The set includes nine knives with polished stainless steel blades and warm amber-brown Durastag handles. Each blade retains the Armack maker's mark along with the “Stainless Steel” stamp, another detail we always appreciate finding on vintage English cutlery.
We especially love the handles. Their warm caramel and amber tones have subtle variations from one knife to the next, giving the set a much richer look than perfectly matched modern cutlery. The simple tapered shape feels timeless rather than overly midcentury. We would mix these with old silver, white dishes, handmade pottery, and linen napkins for a table that feels relaxed and collected.
They're also too good to hide away in a drawer. When they're not being used, stand the set upright in an old ironstone crock, pottery vessel, or small silver container on an open kitchen shelf. We love when practical kitchen pieces can become part of the room, and these certainly can.
Hand selected by us in England, this is a lovely set for everyday meals, weekend dinners, or entertaining. Vintage cutlery has a way of making even a simple table feel a little more interesting, especially when the pieces have this much warmth and character.
