This antique French bread basket was sourced in France and dates to approximately the 1920s, with the deep aged patina and handwoven character we look for in early French wicker. Its unusual form features a raised woven center surrounded by a generous circular basket, likely used for arranging and presenting bread in a bakery or household setting. The original old fabric lining was removed, while remnants of its linen ties remain. Today, we especially love it displayed in a kitchen or hung as sculptural French wall decor.
