Vintage Mexican Tin Tray | Quilted Metal Over Wood Serving Tray combines two materials we love in old handmade pieces: warm wood construction covered in softly aged metal. Made in Mexico, this rectangular tray has a wonderful quilted diamond pattern across the tin surface, scalloped gallery sides, and pierced handles at each end. At 11.25 inches long, it is an easy decorative size for a bar, coffee table, vanity, or tabletop display and has plenty of character even when left empty.
Our favorite detail is the quilted surface. The subtle diamond pattern gives the old tin texture without competing with the wonderful scalloped edge, and years of small scratches and changes in the metal have softened the finish beautifully. The pierced handles are incorporated right into the raised ends, making the entire piece feel both decorative and useful.
We would use this on a bar with a couple of old cocktail glasses, on a coffee table with a candle and match striker, or layered with other vintage pieces on a console. Its smaller scale also makes it especially good for corralling everyday objects without taking over the surface.
