Traditional Nepal Hand Drum with Aged Leather and Metal Rings

This vintage Nepalese madal drum is as beautiful displayed as it is interesting for its traditional construction. The tall hollow wood body is wrapped with wonderfully aged leather tension straps and metal tuning rings, with hide drumheads and the characteristic dark tuning paste at the center. An original long leather strap remains attached. At just over 11 inches tall, it makes a distinctive collected accent for a shelf, tabletop or grouping of global vintage objects.
